The donation of time is also needed. There are several areas in which you can serve as a volunteer. Here is a list of the areas where we presently need volunteers and a description of what they do.
Greeters- Welcome clients as they enter the food pantry and hand out ID cards and folders.
Interviewers- Assist clients with completing the paper work necessary to receive food.
Boxers- Prepare boxes to be given to clients.
Carriers- Help clients who need assistance carry food boxes to their cars.
Truck Drivers- Take the food pantry truck to the food bank in Abingdon and The Lord's Storehouse in Bristol once a week. They also pick up items from Food City and Flowers Bakery.
Un-loaders- Help empty the truck when it returns from a food run.
Organizers- Sort food and put it on the shelves.
Record Keepers- Help keep our paperwork and filing system in order.
Computer Operators- Enter client data and other information.
